Tips from the baker... Storing: Crusty breads are best stored in paper, but they will become stale within a day. They are best eaten fresh. Any bread can be stored for 3-4 days in a clean cloth bread bag, wrapped tightly in plastic wrap, or sealed in an air tight plastic bag. Do not store any bread in your refrigerator, it dries out, even if wrapped. Instead, store it in a cool, dark place in your kitchen or pantry bread box. To Freshen Stale Bread: Spray the bread lightly with tap water, wrap in foil, and warm in a 400 degree oven for 10 min. Microwaving is not recommended, it will dry out and harden bread. Breads with thick crust can be made "crisp & crusty" again by placing the loaf directly on the oven rack for a few minutes before serving, preheat oven to 450 degrees. Freezing Bread: Freshly baked bread can be frozen after it has completely cooled. Wrap in heavy duty foil, then place in a plastic freezer bag, expelling excess air before sealing. It will keep for up to 3 months.
